My special interests include spiritual/faith related issues, psychological trauma related disorders (posttraumatic stress, dissociation, etc.), grief counseling/psychotherapy, and psychodrama/group psychotherapy. General practice areas include adults, adolescents, and children, individual, couple/marriage, and family psychotherapy, depression/mood, anxiety, and somatoform disorders, sexual addictions, psychological testing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and hypnotherapy. I offer demonstration sessions in psychodrama as a way to introduce myself and psychodrama to the public and other professionals.

My therapeutic orientation is primarily eclectic and holistic incorporating psychodynamic, (family) systems, and cognitive-behavioral conceptualizations but with special sensitivity toward a humanistic approach within a Christian framework. Major interests are in the individual and interpersonal relationships and all orientations and approaches incorporating and emphasizing the health of a person and his/her relationships yet also appreciating the "spiritual," emotional, cognitive and physical aspects of human functioning. Treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual and priority is given to short-term approaches when they are applicable.

Trotter

I joined SSCCC staff in September 2008. My official position is Psychology Resident under the supervision of Rob Pramann, PhD. My special interests include extreme/excessive personality styles, working with the elderly, and depression and anxiety. Much of my experience has included conducting psychological assessments and treatment of extreme/excessive mercurial and adventurous personality styles (Borderline Personality Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorders) and developmental disorders. General practice areas include individuals from adolescence to aged, within the scopes of individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and educational interventions. I am interested in working with couples and family psychotherapy modalities.

My way of working with people is a result of my training and experience (which tends to prioritize focusing on thinking and behavior to bring change), as well my distinctively Christian viewpoint using spiritual resources and practices. My overarching aim is to approach clients in a holistic manner, addressing thoughts, feelings, behaviors, biology, and spirituality.
