Martha received a PhD from the Department of Human Development and Family Life at the University of Kansas in 1974. She has worked as a therapist in the Kansas City area for thirty years. In 1987, Martha was one of the four founders of Associates in Comprehensive Counseling. She served as Vice President of the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association and Associate Director of the Christian Justice Center. Martha is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Martha's desire is to help people get unstuck. This desire is based upon the assumption that as human beings, we all have blind spots. Blind spots are what happen to us when we try to avoid pain by fighting, ignoring, running from, or attempting to appease it. Unfortunately, they do not "just go away."
Martha believes that wholeness comes as our mind, emotion and will lines up with the teaching of the Bible and she is committed to working with those who feel lost or stuck in their journey. This stuck-ness may be associated with a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression and dissociation. It also appears in relationships with spouse, child, friend or associates. Each situation is an opportunity to move toward freedom and peace.
