As an African-American woman, a first generation Nigerian-American, and a single parent, I am especially sensitive to cultural issues and issues of difference. My focus in working with clients is to help them gain and maintain control in their lives despite past or present issues, and to deal with those issues appropriately. To this end, I use a variety of theoretical approaches as suits the particular clients that she is working with, including cognitive-behavioral, family systems, structural, psychodynamic, solution-focused, supportive, and strategic.
